A Very Dignified Thing to Do

Tomorrow my 2.5 year old rescue pit bull will endure yet another difficult test in her short life thus far – amputation of her front left leg. I started this blog as an easier way to keep friends and family posted on Greta James’ new life with three legs and her battle against Hemangiocarcoma (cancer of the blood stream). I imagine if you are reading this, you are probably a dog lover. If that’s the case, I strongly advise you not to plug that long, intimidating ‘H’ word into google. You won’t like the results. Instead, just keep my little bear in your thoughts and send her all the positive energy you can spare. She has a tough fight ahead of her, but it is comforting to know that her surgery tomorrow will at least get rid of all her pain for now.

I’ll leave this post with a quote that I found…it made me feel much better when faced with the decision to take Greta’s leg.

“Allowing your dog to live a quality life, no matter how short or long, without pain, is a very dignified thing to do.”

Thank you all for your continued support.
